Cádiz, Bay of

Inlet of the Gulf of Cádiz, southwestern Spain. An inlet indenting the coast of Cádiz province, it receives the Guadalete River and is partially protected by the Isle of Léon, on which the port of Cádiz is located. The Spanish-U.S. air and naval base at Rota is situated on the bay.
